Making a simple table from wooden boards will not require many specialized tools. Of course, some wooden tables may be too difficult to make without the right accessories. The fewest problems are caused by a table built using ready-made wooden tabletops, but a tabletop can also be created from single boards.

Step 1 – how to make a wooden tabletop?

A simple wood tabletop is usually made from planks of wood that are joined together into one plank or mounted a short distance apart (usually at a garden table).

• The most important step, of course, is to measure and cut the boards correctly. So that the table takes the desired shape and matches the other elements.
• To create a tabletop, you need to connect properly processed wooden boards together. For this purpose, you can use special wood glue and dowels, which will effectively connect individual wooden elements together. After joining them, use a specialized wood putty to apply any defects or crevices in the wood.
• After the glue has dried, sand the wood with sandpaper. This will remove any unevenness and smooth out the wooden tabletop.
• Once you have a smooth surface, you can begin painting the countertop. Natural brown or white shades are very popular and suit most modern apartment, house or garden interiors. Don't forget to reinforce the tabletop with strips.

Step 2 – create wooden table legs.

Wooden legs will withstand the load of the tabletop, objects and people sitting at it. Therefore, they must be strong and durable. For this purpose, you can use ready-made metal legs. Which can be bought at a hardware store, or you can create wooden legs for a tabletop from beams of the appropriate section. The thickness of the legs should correspond to the size of the tabletop: the larger the table, the larger the wooden legs will need to be to support it. For large tables, legs with a diameter of about 20 cm should be used. For a smaller tabletop, legs no more than 6 cm thick will suffice. The height of the legs must correspond to its purpose. The legs of a dining table should be approximately 70 cm high. However, in the case of a bar table, you need to plan for taller legs, each of which will be about 90 cm high.
