Finishing material block house is used for internal and external cladding of houses. Widespread use is explained by its practicality and high decorative effect. It can be made of galvanized metal, plastic or natural wood, and this determines how to install the house block correctly.
Preparation for installation
Regardless of the material from which the cladding is made, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work.
- The block house is attached to the sheathing, so first of all it is necessary to clean it from dirt and level the walls on which it will be fixed. It wouldn’t hurt to treat the sheathing timber with an antiseptic. If a wooden surface is covered, then treatment with an antiseptic is mandatory.
- Take special care when installing the sheathing, which is made from wooden beams or metal profiles. It must be strictly vertical. But first, a vapor barrier with an overlap of 12-15 cm is attached to the walls. The pitch and thickness of the sheathing beam is determined by the parameters of the insulation. Usually this is 50-65 cm. The insulation should fit tightly between the beams and not protrude beyond the sheathing.
- A windproof film is stapled on top of the insulation. Next, 30-50 cm thick slats are placed on the timber to create a ventilation gap. If the walls are not insulated, then the material is attached directly to the sheathing.
- The block house must be placed for several days in the conditions where it will be installed so that the material gains humidity and temperature and does not deform in the future.

How to install a block house made of wood
- If you plan to paint the block house, then first, even before installation, you need to paint the tenons and grooves of the boards. In this case, there will be no gaps.
- Panels can be installed from top to bottom or from bottom to top, while the boards are installed with the tongue facing up to avoid moisture accumulation in the grooves. The fastening itself is made in several ways: using special staples (kleimers), secret fastening with self-tapping screws, fastening through and using glue.
- Clampers are most often used when installing narrow boards. In this case, fastening starts from the top. One part of the bracket is inserted into the groove of the panel, and the other is screwed to the sheathing with self-tapping screws.
- Wide boards are secured with self-tapping screws. Holes are pre-drilled in the inner side of the groove or in the tenon, through which the house block is screwed to the sheathing with self-tapping screws at an angle of 45%. The next board is inserted with a tenon into the groove, covering the screw.
- When fastening through, holes for self-tapping screws are pre-drilled in the panels so that the cap is completely recessed. The block is screwed to the sheathing with two self-tapping screws: near the groove and near the tenon. The holes are closed with decorative plugs.
- It is relatively easy to attach panels with liquid nails or other wood glue, but this eliminates the possibility of replacing the board.

How to install a block house made of metal or vinyl
Installation of a vinyl or metal block house has some features.
- It is carried out on a metal sheathing, and the connecting strips are attached not after installing the panels, but before installing the cladding.
- In addition, a set of additional elements is required. Such as the starting and finishing strips, outer and inner corners and others. N
- Some manufacturers produce a special fastening profile that is attached to the sheathing.
- The panels are not tightly fastened with self-tapping screws to prevent deformation due to temperature changes. It is necessary to leave gaps between the connecting strips and panels.
A properly installed house block will not lose its decorative appearance for many years.
